Will, perhaps you're kidding, and please don't take offense, but male and female are genders ... we're all in the same species ... Homo sapiens.

Ragin, that number is probably right - I believe we lose about 35K people per year in the U.S. to firearms ... but, that includes suicides (roughly half, as I recall), 'good' shoots to terminate violent crime, as well as crime and accidents. It is notable that Japan has a much higher rate of suicide than the U.S., even without many by firearms ... over there, they throw themselves off of buildings, jump in front of trains, use knives on themselves and their families, etc. I suppose from Ono's perspective, those methods are more acceptable than using a firearm.
Also, violent crime has been declining in the U.S. during the same period we have been buying more guns and granting concealed carry licenses. Gee, I wonder if there is a connection ...
Ono can pee up a rope, and I suspect she has already tried that, as an art form. We'll always have celebrities making their mark in such ways. It doesn't take brains to become what Ono has become.
I'll agree with some of the concerns about women re: the RKBA. We have lots of great, intelligent women in this country. They have to keep talking to each other logically about their need for the RKBA, or we're sunk, IMHO. Please see http://www.mothersarms.org .

Perhaps the notion that; John may still be with us had he had the means to defend himself that day haunts her so much that she is seeking some type of active therapy to suppress it.
Then again, I doubt she has the capacity to connect the dots.

Will-The problem wasn't men abdicating their role, it was that many men misinterpreted it. Leadership isn't the same as control. Feminists became feminists because some men felt that their role allowed them to be abusive.
Scott-Yoko and John were always anti-gun so this is not a new thing for her. IMHO she is terrified that she isn't in the public spotlight anymore and is doing this to get noticed.
Bogie-The best way to convert anyone is to take them shooting. Hippie or otherwise.
This is kind of unfair, but a fact of life that women are more willing to listen to another woman talking about RKBA.
So all you ladies out there, convert one friend or co-worker. Then convert one more. Pretty soon there will be more of us than of them. (Of course I like the outpopulating method too.)
