Now it can Be Told..

Okay, since the thread drift has gone all culinary on us ...
Yeah off a taco cart on Calle Couhilla in the Zona Norte ...
The honest-to-God best tacos in the world can be found at various carts in Tijuana! (Oh, and I'm not going to comment on which zona you spent your leisure time. ;) )

As for the testimony - good job. We don't need the trash that that guy represents.

I don't understand the logic of this? I've always heard that Ak47's can be had in Africa for around 50 dollars a copy? And these would be fully automatic's left over from the cold war and such... Why whould you want to smuggle out arms from Cali? They looking for hunting rifles to use in sniping or something? Just my thought on this all...

Ya always need more :)

These were Glocks btw. Believe it or not, Western Gun Companies do follow things like export rules, so the entrepenuer has to bend the rules if he wishes to get the latest and greatest, neh?

I am glad we cleared this up. Ever since I heard you were a federal witness ina gun case I have been a bit nervous.

It was going to kill me to have to find aother source for my Colt purchases and BHP custom work. :D

Really? guess they should have let this drip smuggle stuff out of the US willy nilly?

I'm not going to be selling any guns to exporters, but I see no theoretical problem with it.

We have so much genocide on the part of lunatic Muslim extremist wackos in Africa, I see no problem in adding more arms to the equation. Right now, only the wacko Muslims have the guns. If only 10% of the imported guns hit the other side involved, they can at least shoot back sometimes.

What if the French helped impose an arms blockade against the US colonies in the 18th and 19th centuries? Not that I care for the french nowadays, but they at least saw that letting two parties that have bloodlust out for each other duke it out once and for all would end up settling the score and bring about peace at some point.

Gotta get guns from somewhere...

Yeah well your arguments agianst it are POLICY arguments. Your side lost. The Policy is...no exports. So do we enforce the law or just winkywinky like some Third World bannana republic?

I seem to remember that most gun smugglers weren't exactly paragons of virtue. It seems that they sell to the highest bidder. How would one decide which side of the civil war was going to get these weapons? By asking the smuggler? Like he'd tell you the truth.

Wild did the right thing. The rest of the objections smack more of "theory" than evidence. :)

Actually, the French didn't see it that way at all. The French of that time were certainly not freinds of the British crown. What they saw was a way to kick the King of England in the nuts by helping the colonies. They knew that the British could not afford to wage a war against both the Colonies and the French at the same time.

Dat gun smugla wuz ME...ahnd now I'm pizzed aht YOU, Wild-Ah-lah-ska. You heah me talkin wit my Ahfricahn accent? You knowz me, and now I knowz you...I'ze coming foh YOU, Wild-Ah-lah-ska...

Nice going Wild. You def. did the right thing. Negative press coverage should kinda be avoided concerning firearms.
And how could and African country NOT have enough guns?!
