Not too damn wore out, is it?

That feed system needs METICULOUS cleaning and lube.

An old friend sent me a list of rifles he had for sale; there were 6 22 rifles, 2 were tube feed Remingtons. Something no one expects to find is a loaded rifle in stack that belonged to a smith. He handed me one of the Remington 22s.

I opened the bolt and found a round ready to be chambered, I ejected the round, and found another round. I ejected it and found another, and then nothing. I closed the bolt and stood the rifle in the corner. In a few minutes someone else picked the rifle up and found another round that was ready to be chambered.

5 years later he called me and ask if I would clean out his shop, the 22 rifle was included. I opened the bolt and found another round ready to be chambered. Later I took the rifle apart and found someone had packed the tube with lube/grease, the lube was too thick to allow ammo to travel through the tube without a lot of drag.
