For Shame! Whyfore has no one mentioned the Browning Abolt in .30-06?
Well, this is an honor for me I guess. I own one in .30-06 its a Browning Abolt medalion but all are exceptional shooters with great looks and flawless function. I have a good B+L 3200 on it. Works super good for me. Mdl 700, Mdl 70 and Ruger Mdl 77 are all good rifles. Check pawn shops and gun shows since great values can often be snatched up.
The last word: pick whats comfortable and what you can afford. Comfort breeds confidence and this plus practice yield pleasent results on paper and on game. Most any rifle will do if the shooter will do (i.e. practice X3)!
