No worries, plenty of casing mouth flare....

You guys make me feel a little less dumb about some of the reloading blunders I've done. Just a little, but I can live with that.
 
I crushed some x 39 case mouths with the Lee Auto Drum with some cases that got thru the trimming process about .010 too long.

Definitely a "what in heck" happened moment. Double checking with calipers can be your friend.

This craft is full of potential blunders. You're in lots of good company.

I do recommend flairing more generously than conventional wisdom; which generally suggests flairing as little as possible to preserve the brass. I've been flairing generously (to where the bullet will easily fit into the case, sitting about 0.015" or 0.020" deep in it) for years and it seems to have no adverse effect on my brass. And the practice has had quite a beneficial effect on my nerves ;).

Rifle cartridges are a different matter, btw.
