My Chinese Type 56 Carbine and it's Egyptian Cousin... A Rasheed Carbine. The Type 56 was made in 1968 at the /26\ Factory and the Rasheed was made in 1967. The Type 56 was imported by Navy Arms in the 1980s and added a small scope rail. I believe it's for the Chinese Type 89 Scope. Also pictured is my Soviet SKS Carbine produced by the Tula Arsenal in 1953.
I find these little rifles to be great all around guns. You can use them for self defense, hunting, and target shooting. Of course the Rasheed isn't a SKS by design. But it has been called the Cadillac of SKS Carbines. Also another damn good little rifle is the Czech Vz52/57. They were originally chambered in the Czech 7.62x45mm but in 1957 had them rechambered to 7,62x39mm. Another fine semi-auto ten shot carbine with side folding bayonet.
I'd like to get one for the collection.
