Next Ruger

The perfect set up in my opinion.

3 convertible models same barrel length.

.22lr/.22mag, .38,.357/9mm, .45lc/.45acp Throw in an Old Army for luck.

Lots of options if ammo becomes scarce, and the same platform. What's not to love?

Thank God Ruger kept the single action alive. Ed

I've got 4 1/2 Rugers.

.41 Mag Blackhawk 6 1/2"
.45/.45 Convertible Blackhawk 5 1/2"
.327 Federal Mag SP101 3 3/16"
.357 Mag GP100 6"

You can't go wrong with any of their single or double actions.
I need to pick up a 4" Redhawk in .44 Mag or .45 Colt, just cause I want one, along with a 10mm/.38-40 Convertible Blackhawk.

Get the .45 Colt.

More stopping power than .357 but with less recoil/blast/noise, plus it's the natural choice for a single action gun and the Ruger line up mostly is built on the .45 frames so in .357 magnum, you get smaller holes in the cylinder and that equals more metal and more weight on your hip to back around.

If I were you, I'd get a New Vaquero in .45 Colt in stainless w/ either 4 5/8" bbl or my preferred 5.5" bbl length.

The .357 Mag would be my choice if I didn't have a reloading setup. I've found it difficult to stop with just one Ruger Blackhawk. I've been tempted to get one in .44 Special. The Bisley Blackhawks are my favorites of all.

I'm going to vote for the 357. Simply because it's a great round and when you feel like shooting the gun without burning up too much money, you've got the good old 38 special to turn to. That thing loaded with 38's is a real pleasure to shoot.

Unless you reload... Then I might go for the 45 colt.

In my opinion the Blackhawk is far enough away from a traditional single action with it's safety features and ability to load without cocking the hammer, that the feeling of needing it in 45 colt no longer applies.

If I ever get a 45 colt it will probably be an Evil Roy! Or maybe a real Colt if I can manage to spend that much.

Get 'em all. I have a 3" SP101 .357, a 4 5/8 New Vaquero in .45 LC and a 5.5" Super Blackhawk .44 mag.
