+1 It's what I've done with my 4-5/8" NV .44 Sp and it does certainly "help" considerably. Since I have a few NVs--all finishes--I switch off between them with some custom walnuts, American holly, ebony and a set of elks just to keep things interesting. I'm still headed to Turnbull-land with the .44 as soon as I can afford as the blue'd guns--especially fixed sight "cowboy" style--just seem to need or want the "CCH" treatment--for my tastes anyway (either that or aged/worn finish with essentially nothing!). My older NV .357 has the factory CC on it, and while it is not as good a treatment as the "real thing" or, in the case of Rugers, Turnbull's better faux treatment, I still prefer the factory coloring versus not having it at all. My pie-in-sky plan for that particular gun is a Bowen (etc) conversion to .38-40/.40/10mm "triple threat" convertible, and in the process having it Turnbull'd anyway. 'Til that likely far-off day, I like the gun just fine as it is.
