Next 9mm, Sig 2022 vs SR9c?

Got a new Glock 19 few weeks ago. Love it but now have the bug to get another 9 mm. Looking seriously at SIG 2022 due to having the contrast of hammer fired vs striker fired compared to Glick 19. Have always liked Sigs but can't afford p226 or p229. 2022 is the only affordable model.

Had also thought about Ruger SR9C as its versatility appeals to me. Concealable but also having full size grip capability with 17 round grip extension. I would appreciate any feedback.

the 2022 is a pretty epic gun in terms of reliability and accuracy. in my opinion the trigger needs lightened, but overall its a very refined gun. BUT, its bulky and heavy and your other choice is not. so it just depends if the is a range or house gun only, or if you have any plans to carry it all.

even though the 2022 is a nice and durable sa/da, ifeel the trigger is seriously lacking as opposed to the cz series of guns. look into a baby eagle if it's in your range and check out the trigger feel in comparison. the tristar t100 has a better trigger than the cz even though other things about the gun aren't as high quality

Quality of CZ 07 vs SIG 2022

I understand that the quality of SIG is much better than CZ. Plus it has lifetime warranty.

I really like my SR9c. I have had no issues with accuracy and so far it has fed anything I loaded into it.

That being said, I think Sig makes great weapons. I know you said the 2022 is the only affordable Sig, but have you also looked into the P320? I think it is also a good value.

Either way, you really can't go wrong in my opinion.

The 9c is a great little 9mm that won't fail you, accurate, reliable and at a good price.

The SP2022 is sig what more can be said.

Oh and the quality of the P-07 is top notch BTW. My 09 is every bit as well made as my P220. The new finish on the 07s and 9s is great. The internals are well made and the frame is made great. Other than the 5 year warranty there's zero negatives to speak of...especially with the new 2014 07&9's

Bud's still has a great deal on the SP2022, stainless slide, with night sights. It's at $475 now. When I got it, it was at $399, but I'd still happily get that package for $475. The SP2022 is easily a $400 gun, and night sights / stainless are usually $50-75 options individually.

I have more firsthand experience with the 2022 than any other pistol. It was my first "real pistol" and I put pretty serious round counts through both of the two I had. For the price I think they're hard to beat. Carries well, shoots well, cost effective.

The trigger, as above mentioned, could be better but for what you pay it's as good as the competition. It's not a 226 obviously, but it didn't cost that either. I have big hands so I wish it was a little bigger but that's just me. I'd give it an A for its class.

Haven't fired the Ruger but I think they're one of the most under rated gun makers around. Good luck.

The 2022 is a fine pistol, I personally do not like the trigger though. The break is too far to the rear for me. It isn't like a 226 trigger either.

The ruger is a fine pistol, but less refined overall in fit/finish.

As far as Sig vs CZ... remember two things...

1) You are talking about a $400 Sig, not the $800+ Sigs... The 2022 is no slouch though
2) While Sig's Fit, finish, and function are top notch... CZ's fit and function are also top notch.

The warranty is lower on the CZ yes, but manufacturing defects and most warranty issues happen within the first few years. So you should be good with a CZ if you went that route.

One nice thing about the SigPro is that accessories are easy to find. I ordered a magazine since I heard they are shipping them with 1 mag now, and I found plenty of sources for mags and holsters really easily.

That is probably true of CZ as well, though, since they're pretty popular in shooting circles.

I have both the 2022 in 40 cal and a SR9 (not the SR9c). Both are great guns. I prefer the SR series as far as being comfortable in the hand and not as blocky. The SR9c will easily conceal better than the thick blocky slide on the 2022. That's my .02. As stated above, I love my Sig to.

I carry a SR9c. Has eaten 1000+ rounds without a failure, PERIOD.

I wouldn't consider a SR9c really concealable, w/ 17 rounds it ain't exactly light!

SR9c standard capacity is 10rds.... the 17rd is an extended magazine from the full size version. not sure why you would carry it that way.

I dislike Ruger. A lot.

However, to clear something up. The Sig 2022 contract to our military? Yeah, the Ruger P95 also got a similar contract...

The SP2022 also got a massive contract to supply every French federal agency. Something on the order of a quarter million guns. Despite all the jokes about them surrendering easily, the French police and military are actually pretty darn competent and I put at least some stock in what they choose.

the Ruger P95 also got a similar contract

In 2004, they got 4,000 guns to the U.S. Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command at the Rock Island Arsenal.

In 2005, they replaced all of the P95's with 5,000 of the SP2022.

Same division.

I have both and they are both very accurate and go bang every time. The sig has a good DA/SA trigger and the SR9 has a good striker trigger. I do like the grip better on the SR9.
