NewTaurus View .38 snub

 Just when I thought Taurus couldn't make a uglier gun. They did it. BARF !!! I am sure their will be people buying . They convinced people the Judge was a good idea.

Interesting . . . . I guess it would be on my "list" . . . waaaaaaay at the bottom. It might catch on but it really doesn't do anything for me.

If it weren't for the Lexan side plate I'd be all over it.

Only way it could be better if the frame and cylinder were just big enough for the .38 Special instead of using the .357 sizing.

that barrel way to short. Almost think it may run afoul of some of the old original "saturday night special" laws, at least on barrel length and melting point of components.

I don't mind the size, or weight. Nor the short ejector rod, however I would rather give up a we bit of weight savings to see It covered when the cylinder is closed. But a clear, lexan side plate? Really, for what reason? Makes the whole thing look like some sort of salesman's cut away non operative sample gun.
I have to say there are some guns I don't like because I think they are strange, or ugly. Others I do like for just the same reasons. But this thing looks just plain stupid!

OK, I've thought of a solution to the ugly side plate.

All you have to do is remove it and paint the inside of the plastic. This is very common practice for motorcycle windscreens, should work well with this pistol.

Something else to think about is bullets jumping crimp.

I intend to load it with some Lee 125 grain handloads. I think it would do nicely with non expanding bullets.

Look, I am sorry. I apologize, I really do.

My favorite watches are skeleton watches. I love watching springs wind and unwind, the gears move, and just seeing how the watch works.

This gun FASCINATES me. My only issue, I would be so amazed at watching it work, I would want to be staring at the side plate when I shot it. Gimmick, yes. Ugly, maybe. Fascinating to those who like to watch something mechanical work? Absolutely.
