Newsflash from VP Biden- Exec orders

Some polling suggests that the outrage hasn't really moved attitudes that much and perhaps starting strong is a ploy for some smaller regulations.

I find the 78% favoring registration the most worrying of the poll responses. This means that significant numbers of gun owners most likely support that if the poll data is correct.

The costs of registering past, present, and future guns of their choice is going to be so costly I'd venture to guess the current administration wouldn't receive the funds. It isn't highly likely this hitch in the getalong will work. But it is something to remember.

Calm recommended: This is FAR from over.

This isn't the first time we've seen attempts to control / regulate / embargo / restrict firearms. While I don't suggest RKBA supporters sit by idly by, history would indicate it has to be 1) a slow day in Congress and 2) a very compelling incident / crisis to move the bar.

Keep the advocacy up, but don't panic. This is FAR from over.

Polling is a good way to sway fence sitters. I can poll a specific group to get any response I want. 75% of my household thinks I am the smartest man in the world. What causes this they are young and don't know better. If I were to give a 30 min lecture in a college level civics class I would likely be voted dumbest in the room. Don't believe any poll ever.
It is too easy to sway the response in so many ways.

I think you are making an erroneous assumption that the government would pay for the program and not charge exorbitant fees to gun owners to finance it.

The fees introduced to pay for the registrations/permanent tracking would be so great that most politicians might see it's absurd. I don't see a Republican controlled congress with pro-gun Democrats passing a bill such as this to begin. Even then, I don't think they'll be approving the sky high fees citizens would have to pay in order for the registration debacle to be supported.

Newsflash from vp joe biden

Just heard Newt Gingrich speak on Greta, he states that a pres. can sign an eo but he himself cannot enforce it, has to be done by an agency, fbi/atf. Congress then has to approve funding and therein lies the rub, congress with holds funding. So then what... well "its them repubs" they want blood in the streets, blah blah blah and so it goes, but it's not my fault! Seems our current pres will not own anything, its delegate, delegate, bring me something to sign. Can't blame him for anything that fails that way I suppose. TL
