Is it my imagination, or has GoSlash contributed absolutely nothing to this board other than "BUSH ATE MY BRAIN" type threads?

We get the idea, Slash. You have minor issues with the current administration.

Instead of spending so much time dredging up this repetitive stuff, why don't you actually go out and try to make your community a better place?

You claim that Bush & the Republican party are destroying this country. So why sit idly bitching about it, instead of doing something to counteract it?

If you devoted even 1/10th of the energy to your community that you expend venting about all things political, you'd have a positive impact.

Have you ever even posted a firearms related message?
Why is it ok for the Republicans here to bitch about the Democrats, the conservatives to bitch about the liberals, but when a libertarian/moderate/whatever gs chooses to align with decides to question Republicans or convervatives suddenly he needs to shut up and help his community, he needs to go out and do something?

Back on topic I'd like to point out that after 9/11 Bush repeatedly stated that catching Osama was priority #1 on his list, that he wouldn't rest until it was accomplished. Back then I thought it was noble but counterproductive; his capture wouldn't cripple Al Queda like Saddam's capture toppled the regime. The bottom line, however, is that he promised something and five years later he's actually said "I truly am not that concerned about him."

And yes, I read the rest of the press release. I understand what he's saying and I actually agree that he was more of a threat when he had a stronger hold over the country but that doesn't mean Bush should be breaking his promises. He used that fracking mantra of "get the evildoers!" to rally the public to his cause and now wants us to forget about the war he failed to succeed in because he was too gung ho about starting another one.

gc70,
Yes, it does! That is exactly the way it worked during the American Revolution. The French came and helped us gain our freedom from the British and then promptly left rather than staying to try to tell us how to run things.
Setting aside the obvious disagreement I have with this course of action, let me reiterate:

If that's the case, mission beyond accomplished. Why not just bring 'em home now?

"The difference is lost on me."

I'm not surprised.

P.S. - Re: "apparently if you run an online business, your website must be accessible to the disabled."

What amazes me is that a business person would even consider using a non-accessible site. After 32+ years working with individuals with disabilities I only have one thing to say "Do you realize how many millions of people there are out there with disabilities?" And millions more around the world who have computers and credit cards, too.

"The following ten "Quick Tips" summarize key concepts of accessible Web design. These tips are not complete guidelines; they are only excerpts of concepts from the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0 (WCAG 1.0)"

Is this thread about Rumsfeld, Saddam, Osama, Republicans, the French, Bush, NATO or handicap accessible websites?

This thread is closed due to an abundance of noise and very little signal.
