Newbie Question

You can find gorgeous exotic hardwood grips on eBay from Thailand. They make them for the very popular guns, such as the Beretta 92. The ones I have bought were $30 or so.

Welcome to the site and to the sport. As others have said, you picked a good pistol to start with. As a new shooter, and a female, you may find this http://www.corneredcat.com/ site interesting and valuable. It is maintained by Pax, one of moderators here. Plenty of other ladies on the site, too, who can help with carry options, holster selection and the 1000 other things that seem to pop up.

Thanks to all

Thanks for your input!

I appreciate the support and insight here, this is a whole new thing for me,and not one I am sharing openly. The community here is welcome!

Now... too come up with the right name for it! :D

There was a post in a thread just a few days ago that had a great price on reloaded 9mm amunition something like $90 per 500.

If you want a grip to help reduce recoil, try the Hogue rubber grips. For reduction in size or for tactile feel, try the Hogue G10 grips. Hogue has an auction website that you can get deals on.

About grips...

Of course, I will shoot the gun several times before I decide about changing the grips. But I was more concerned about appearance! After all… I am a girl, and we like pretty, shiny things!

I like the idea of a natural and beautiful Woodgriff, somebody mentioned Thai grips… Do you have a website is particular or is it only EBay?

I plan to shoot regularly with my instructor. I'm not the "roll your own" when it comes to ammo, I have a busy and intense workday... It just won't happen.

But once I get comfortable, I'll look to shoot at least once a month. I've even considered turning it into competitive shooting, but that's down the road a bit...

Thanks again in advance…

There are countless 3d party grips for your Beretta. For that matter Beretta itself makes some very nice wood grips for the 92fs series. One of the fun things about owning the Beretta is deciding on cool-looking grips for it.

Great choice of handgun, OP.

9mm ammo is relatively cheap. Like you, I am pretty busy with work and am disinclined to reload ammo. I don't have the space or the time for it. With my 92fs I tend to practice with the same weight and load as I use for home defense. The 92fs series is so reliable that it is VERY unusual to have a reliability issue with any ammunition out there.
