Newbie Question: Do I have enough pistols?

I suppose some would say...never. I am not really a gun nut, I just want to have enough for practical personal defence and occasional target practice for fun.
I have two 9mm's...a Canik S120 (CZ 75B clone) for target and home defence, and a Ruger LC9s for IWB concealed carry. I also have two .22's... a Buckmark for target, and a Ruger SR22 for plinking and fun. I think this is enough. Am I correct?

No one can really answer that question, but you. On the otherhand most wives are quick with a "yes" response to that question.

You do realize that you just asked a gun forum if you have enough guns, right? :)

I've got a small collection currently with a Walther PPQ & PPS, Sig P938 & P320 and a Springfield range Officer. All in 9mm.

The correct answer is, you can never have enough guns! :D

It sounds like you have your "needs" covered. As you have probably ascertained from other responses, many of us here have a lot of "wants" that we fill. I would suggest you enjoy what you have for awhile and then re-evaluate whether you want to acquire more firearms.

No, you need a couple revolvers and at least one 1911. Then you can go and get something in 10MM. And then you'll realize you need a 500 S&W. And then you'll realize that a Coonan .357 sounds real neat and before too long you'll be needing a bigger safe.

Sounds like enough to me for this year.

What's next year's plans?

2 semi auto 9mm and a pair of .22s? I'd say you haven't even scratched the surface! :D

Until you get between 3 and 4 dozen you're not even a real enthusiast.:p

I'd say you're still coming up short. No cowboy single action revolver, no double action revolver, no 1911... Break out your credit card- we're here to help!:p

Enough for me - no...

But do whatever you want in this hobby....and enjoy the journey !! Don't be in a rush to figure out where the hobby ends.../ be satisfied with where you are now.

Some of us carry full sized guns in 9mm, or .40 S&W , or .45acp...or even revolvers in .357 mag..../ ...some of us plink with 9mm, or .357 mag or .44 mag .../ ..some of us have a variety of .22's.....---- and some of us have a little bit of everything...:D

Spend an hour a week in this forum....just on handguns ( semi-autos & revolvers)....& a little time in... / shotguns / rifles and reloading....and in a month or so you'll see some trends....and maybe some guns or thoughts on things you want to investigate more...and have fun with it.

I've only got four myself but it works for me! Two 9mm autos and two revolvers, .22 rimfire and .357 mag.
Iffen I were younger, had more money, shot more...............then maybe I'd get more guns but now it's plenty!
In the end it depends on if you got enough time/money and all that......so get whatever you want/feel you need.:D

Maybe for you. I still need big bore revolvers, a 1911. Probably will pick up a p226 some day. A .22 semi and revolver. Gotta own a Colt model 1908 in .380 too. Probably want a sig p938 as well. And a shield. And that's only the pistols off the top of my head.

Lots of people have a dozen or two dozen long guns for some reason I can't understand. I can understand having several .22's, a .223/5.56 bolt gun and semi auto, a .308 bolt gun, maybe an AK, a .45-70 for big game, a couple shotguns, and pistol caliber lever guns and semi auto's, but once you have those I don't see what more you would want as you'd have all the bases covered.

For handguns though, I don't think you can enough. Shooting handguns at distances of 15 yards or move very accurately is difficult, thus I can see why one would want everything from a .22 up to a .45 to see which they do best with.

Then there's just those cool handguns like top break revolvers, Taurus Judges, Bond Arms derringers, NAA mini revolvers, cap and ball black powder revolvers, T/C Encore's in .308 and .223, a Glock long slide, Glock sub-compact, 9mm Single Stack, a .380 pocket pistol, a 10mm Glock, a .45 Colt revolver (single action and a double action), a Tokarev, a Nagant revolver, and so much more. I GOTTA HAVE 'EM!

So no. You... do not... HAVE... enough pistols.

You could stand a CZ Kadet as a rimfire counterpart to your Canik. The whole pistol, as just the adapter probably won't fit the Canik.

How do you feel about revolvers? You could probably stand a rimfire and a magnum, or maybe a single and double action of each.

No Glock, no Sig? A plastic gun and a precision firearm would be nice to any collection for comparison.

Look in your safe. See all that empty space?...

I say that only in half jest. If it were me and I had no secure safe, that would be something I would look at. I know-not the question asked. Bit if I had a secure safe, it would not be enough.

I would want to add at minimum a 1911 pattern pistol in .45; a good revolver (S&W or Ruger) in .357 (two if you want to add a single action such as a Ruger); and something like a Sig or H&K in .40. You don't have to buy

This would give you a lot of options if we ever got back into low ammo supply like happened earlier this decade. I would often be in the store and see nothing on the shelf but .40 and at the time I did not have that covered. Don't forget a .357 revolver is lots of fun with .38 special rounds.
