Newbie here!! Question on SP101 holsters.

It kinda depends on how tight you like to wear your pants. I'm wearing the same jeans and shorts I always did. With a large semi auto you would probably have to get one size larger. For the 2.25 inch SP101 it is not a problem. The good thing is that the weapon is very conceled in the smartcarry. I've asked friends to try to spot the gun. Even though they knew I was carrying, they couldn't find it.

Check them out here: www.smartcarry.com

I have no personal experience with them but these also look like they would work well. I'm thinking of getting one. http://www.tidepoolwebdesigns.com/kangaroo/

I have carried the sp101 spurless hammer model for several years now. This is what I've learned:

You may not get a paddle holster that will conceal well. Why? That sp101 is short & fat , when you add the extra thickness that a paddle holster has to have it ends up being like carrying a round ball on your hip.

I'm assuming you want a paddle for the ease of on/off, correct? You may want to give that up in favor of the "spreading" affect of a good pancake holster. Give this some serious thought.

If you do decide ultimately on a paddle rig, you'll have to get a good one(read expensive) for two reasons:
1. Better design-easier to conceal than a cheap one.
2. That gun is small, heavy, and thick. To control such a gun in comfort & concealment for extended periods takes a lot of smarts on the holstermakers part. Those that do it well know they do it well, and charge accordingly.

Also, by your comments I take it you are built fairly stocky? If this is the case I reccomend a leather rig, not kydex. Why? The leather rig will somewhat conform to your body after a short time. Your body will conform to the rigid kydex rig. This leads to a lot of pinching and poking.
