New Winchester 1892 Deluxe

I kind of got into an old school gun thing recently (not counting the toys from LaRue). Part of it is because my local club has monthly silhouette matches, including some for for lever guns in pistol calibers.

Last summer I asked my local dealer to try and find me a Winchester 1892 Deluxe. He put the word out among his various suppliers but nobody had any. The months went by and all we heard was that Winchester didn't even offer the Deluxe anymore. Then out of the blue came the call last week.

Here it is - 24" barrel in .357 Magnum. And check out that Grade IV wood. It's almost too pretty to shoot. Almost. Marbles makes a tang sight for it but I'm not sure how it fits back there with that new safety. It could use some work to lighten the trigger but that's down the road. Like all of Winchester's lever guns, it's made in Japan by Miroku. Oh yeah, forgot to mention the barrel is octagon.

That thing sure is a looker, and I bet it's a lot of fun to shoot, too.

You dog! - I am pea-green with envy, here in West Texas.

I spent most of my life in Midland, PVL. Maybe I'll be able to bring it by for a test drive on one of the trips back home.

What a beauty!!!!

I just bought TWO 1892 Miroku Winchesters. Top drawer in every way!!! My stocks are grade ll/iii. Almost as nice as yours... but not quite :(

Good luck with your new rifle!!

Wow! I didn't realize they were putting wood like that on the current WInchesters. They only thing I can't get past is that d***ed idiotic tang "safety".
