New @ Wal-Mart Federal 40 S&W 135 Grain JHP XM40HA

I collect ammo and I when I saw this at Wally's I bought a box even though I don't have a .40 :) I keep one round for my collection and a few for trade fodder. The rest go to the range so that I can shoot my friends' .40 :D

If it performs, it's a great deal!
 
they have them here in louisiana.

they fire fine from my xd40sc, but give a bit too muzzle flip for my taste, ill stick with 165gr hydrashocks.

The Federal 135g JHP is almost as good as mine (was); recommend as ideal civvie defense choice.
Controllable and consistent.....
 
1185 fps average in my Glock 22 - 4.5" barrel
1160 fps average in my Kahr CW40 - 3.5" barrel

both shot on a 90 degree day at about 10 feet.

I generally like the 155 grain Remington, Speer, Winchester, or Federal loads which get about the same velocity, but these are nothing to sneeze at.

Winchester won a huge federal contract to provide this same load to the gubmnt. I wonder if Federal lost out and is dumping these?
 
shot around 50 of these just a few days ago. accurate, not overly snappy (no more so than other 40 rounds). i like em, but i may bump it up to some HST 155s
