New S&W revolvers coming in 2014

Well, yes I know timing can always be an issue. I was imprecise. I should have said I don't see why it would be anymore of an issue in 9mm than .357. Perhaps the trigger pull weight is the answer.

It wouldn't be any more of an issue. However, it might somewhat alleviate the already present issue of N-Frame .357's going out of time (they're already at least slightly more prone to it than K and L-Frames). Like I said though, I think the titanium cylinder probably has more to do with trigger pull than timing.

The 5 shot L frame 44 magnum is calling to me. Perhaps for the bear problem in TX (just a joke). The N frames were always a bit big for my mitts.

I do think a new snubby 66 would be neat also.

I don't recall that the 9mms use the spring extractor like the 547s. Any confirmation of that. A 547 type J or K would be neat also.

Get to the back of the line Mr Meyer. I WILL have one of these.

My hope is the Model 69 will get shorter barrel as well. 3" or 2 1/2".

9mm Revolver w/o Moon Clips

I was just reading in the March issue of "Guns" magazine that Charter Arms now has a 9mm revolver with a unique extractor design that negates the use of moon clips.

<<<Good bejesus, give it a break. This tiresome axe has been ground enough. Current production S&W revolvers are awesome. If you don't like 'em, don't buy 'em,>>>

That's just your opinion. Thousands of handgun buyers agree with me and will not buy a S&W revolver with a lock. We don't like them, and won't buy them. Leaves more for you, I guess.

The 929 is a 8 shot and moon clips will make it a good competition revolver. The advantage of the 9 mm is that someone shooting 9 mm semi-autos can now shoot the same caliber in different disciplines and just reload one caliber. Quite a few folks that I shoot with are showing a lot of interest for the 9 mm wheel gun for that very fact that shoot ICORE and USPSA.

Thanks for the link... I have interest in one as well, & while I don't use the locks... I'm not going to beat a dead horse over the hole... though I do think it interesting, that they don't "show off" that "safety feature" in any of the pictures in the link :D
