New Ruger GP100-22

I am surprised they did not make it a 12 shot just to get over on the 617. If those are the old school compact grips that take the same inserts as the SP101, they are going to sell a lot of them once they become available. Those grips have sold on Ebay for $100.

Have a feeling that the GP-100 22 with a 5" barrel will be putting a hurt on my bank account. It will make an excellent range and field revolver.

I myself would prefer if the lug was added, at least to one version of this design. That way it will match the balance for folks who own full sized GP100s, and will also look better IMHO.

Consider that it may -NOT- pull off that balancing act you suggest or expect, given the radically differing size of the hole that is the bore.

Choices & options and a dizzying array of different available features would always be the fantastic answer but it really complicates the business side of things.

I didn't realize this was old until just now. I was about to say, following the sweet 4" SP101 in .327 with this was gonna put a hurt on a lot of our wallets. I guess we're safe for the time being.

I've also got to wonder about the newish "friction reducing cam" technology in the LCR. Some of us have been wondering if that technology would ever make its way into larger guns.

What happened to the .22LR GP100?

If they can keep the same trigger pull that's on the centerfire GP100, it will be a winner.

The 8-shot SP101s in .22 are cool guns but the trigger flat out SUCKS in double action, it just does. My GP100s have far better trigger pulls and a 10-shooter in .22 LR would be a real winner to pair with my two .357 GPs.

Why not a 4.2" barrel since that is the most handy size used for defense?

It also needs to fit in existing holsters for practice. Other companies are able to figure this out...why didn't Ruger?

???
Where did the point two come from?
Why not a 2.4" barrel since that is the most handy size used for defense?
Well, drop the .4, and you do have a "handy" defense revolver. Other than the fact we're talking 22 rimfire.
But that 3" LCRx would make a great "kit" gun. While the bigger, heavier GP 100 would be a great range gun.
I wouldn't consider either for SD in 22 rimfire.

You could sign me up for one if the price is right . I like it without the full lug . I would also like to see a 4" version .
