Hell i'm only 20 . I started off liking the classic grade wood rifles, got my sako, then really got interested in the "tactical" looking rifles for practical long range shooting. Haven't looked back that much. As i said before i can't stomach scratching my Sako 85.
I agree though new production rifles are made cheaper than they used to be. (sps stocks come to mind). To really get a nice classic premium grade wood stocked rifle it's 1100$ and above IMO.
