I didn't know I liked little guns, until I found a Browning 1910... And now this!

Mine's very similar, w/o the nice grips, though. The Jetfire is a real fine little poodle shooter.

Haha Poodle shooter!

The poodle people have put a check mark next to your name... Haha!

I thought those grips were simulated wood until I took them off! I can see I gotta be careful how much I tighten them down so as not to crack them.

Nice looking Colt! Gonna get to the range today to try this baby out!

I bought a .25 ACP Jetfire a couple of months ago. It is very well made and a lot of fun to shoot. I would recommend Fiochi ammo which is the most powerful made in this caliber.

FH I have a 950 also. This is my second one after I stupidly sold the first one. The 25 ain't much but it will work. I knew someone who killed a robber in his gas station with one. He emptied the gun into him and he was dead after a 10 foot charge.

I just bought 250 rounds of ammo from Aim Surplus. They had the best price I could find. That gives me 400 rounds in stock and should hold me for a while. My gun has the black plastic grips.

If you bench these guns and are really careful how you shoot they will surprise you with how well they can group from such a small gun.

We need a range report.

Now, if we can just get a miracle drug which makes our hands temporarily small for pip squeaks and large for hand cannons. :)

I have an Astra in .22 Short and the same gun (under the Colt name) in .25. Both are reliable but I used to shoot the .22 a lot because it was cheap fun. Now .25 is expensive and .22 Short is hard to get, so I haven't shot either one in several years.

The gun itself is probably capable of groups 1/4 that size.
I had a 4" 950 Minx in .22 short that would shoot 3" groups at 25 yards.

Well.....

Did I mention that those groups were shot in near total darkness while doing high-speed loops in a Large Hadron Collider... :)

I agree Bill, the gun is better than I am, but even with me shooting...

My big sausage hands fit a finger and a half on the grip... Also have a little sore spot where the recoil of the slide said hello a couple of times... My thumb put the safety on a couple of times - gonna have to train on that.

Astra made the better quality Colt branded guns in my opinion, the Astras have forged frames while the later built Colt's that were made by Colt had cast frames. I have both the Astra .25 ACP and the .22 short, the magazine on the .22 short has an aluminum filler because the cartridge is too short to the mag without it.

The answer to ammo shortages and expenses is reloading, and I have loaded .25 ACP cases to 1000+ FPS with no problems of any kind. In fact I think I have some pushing 1200 FPS. I made up my own star wheel for .25 ACP since RCBS progressive press isn't supplying them for the .25. It's interesting loading the little shells with Bullseye.
It is counterintuitive the first time one sees what kind of accuracy the little Astras can put out, but they have the best sights of all the .25 ACP's it seems to me. I also like the Budishowski .25, a very well made weapon and I think I remember it being double or single action.
