New military pistol?

Whatever is chosen (after years of commitee meetings) and with no consulting of the guys that have to actually maintain and use it and whose lives depend on the applicability and functionality of said sidearm the decision will be made by some idiots in Washington who will profit monetarily from it. That is how it works now. I am a veteran and I have seen this over and over ever since the Vietnam war. They took our .30 cal. rifles and gave us .22s. Then they took our .45 ACPs and gave us 9mms. Whatever they give us next will be just as absurd.

If they did switch platform, I'm with the school that thinks that Glock is out until they put a thumb safety on them.

I'm not so sure a safety is the key element lacking in Glock. The military likes hammers and they like to be able to decock a handgun.

FNP/FNX anyone? FNH already supplies a bunch of medium/light arms, and the FNP/FNX can be had from 9mm all the way to .45acp. Covering NATO and military ideals. No gen4 issues either, lol.

The Maryland State Police are having issues with the PX4.
I seriously doubt the military will adopt it.

This statement is like telling the doctor it hurts, whats wrong?

What are the issues?

As far as Glock goes for the military not going to happen so all the "only gun there is" Glock owners sorry. The military has this thing for safeties. If Glock was a runner for the military why didn't they go forward when the military was switching from the 1911????

Some of the big names produced some pistols for potential submissions the last time this was seriously discussed by the government.

The suspension of any requests for submissions and testing back then has probably worked in favor of the companies, since now they've had some extra time to put their new products out in the hands of the civilian world (meaning LE & private citizens) and iron out any wrinkles discovered. ;)

The last USPSA match I shot I used my 92fs and on the squad of shooters were 2 shooters out of the military and low and behold what were these 2 shooting???? 92fs's. They must be junk:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

They're not junk but they're also not the best choice out there and our Govt. certainly didn't choose them because they were the best choice. How many folks here know why our Govt. chose an Italian pistol?

Good question. In your opinion what was the best choice out the tested pistols?

It wasn't an internet rumor. We wanted cruise missile bases in Italy and the only we we could get them was to buy the Beretta. The old Potomac two-step.
