New kirst .45 open top converter kits

I think the problem with the Kirst Open Top 1860 conversion is you can't just shoot any old factory 45 Colt Cowboy Ammo. You have load them short (OAL) to fit the cylinder.

I'm taking a 10 year break from reloading. Need to clean a hole in my garage to set up my press.
 
That's true for the Uberti but the slightly longer Pietta cyl. will accept standard length 45s. I keep factory rounds in mine around the house.
