New Kahr T9 now shipping

I always thought Websters defined tactical as "slap an extra $200 on the price for a matte black finish". Suppose not.

The grip contour was supposedly copied from the BHP. They should have beefed it up ever so slightly to take BHP mags. I'd buy that creation in a heartbeat. Might even give my current carry pistol a run for the money. No wait, not a 10mm :D .

I have to agree with Jeff

If you want to buy the KT9093A more power to you, but there are many other guns I would rather buy first. I just do not see a big enough market for this gun. Now if you want to talk about a gun that I do see a market for take a look at the PM9!

chaim, why does gun appeal to you? What do you like about it? I am not saying you are wrong for wanting it, but I honestly never saw a market for this pistol.

Same reason I want a CZ 75 in nickel even though I already have one in the more practical polycoat. I really like how it looks (who says that isn't a good enough reason to buy a gun :D ).

I really like the Kahrs I've had a chance to shoot. For a DAO gun they had great triggers (the only DAO triggers I've had the chance to shoot that I've liked), they are accurate, they feel good to me and they seem to be well made.

However, I don't live in a CCW state so that isn't that big an issue. Even when I move I already have two guns that will fit that bill (a Bersa Thunder in .380 and a Taurus 605) though one is a bit underpowered. Also, I'm not a small guy (5'11", 260lbs) and I'm used to carrying a lot of stuff (you should see all the junk I sometimes carry in my pockets) so I wouldn't have much trouble concealing or carrying (and I have carried for a few hours at a time within my house) a full sized gun most of the time (at least a 3" or 4" K-frame or a CZ 75 or 1911 sized gun). For the most part I would only really need a smaller gun for the summer, and as backup, when I need something that can be carried in a pocket. So an MK or the new MP series may be nice but I don't really need it and the P and K series wouldn't really be needed (though I may consider such guns eventually). Really, any Kahr would just be because I like them and this gun really looks good and the fact that it is a little bigger, for a fun gun that I'd use mainly at the range, would be a plus.

"hey, glockgadza tell ernie langdon about that double action disadvantage"

The point was, IF you are buying another gun to get you some advantage, may as well get the most out of it. Otherwise why not shoot that MK-9/40?

And EL has disadvantage only on the first shot, and also shoots heavy gun with nicely smithed trigger. In fact at the last local match here was a guy that was smoking with his 92 Elite II, totally reminded me of EL. Wonder what he would do with say G-34 with the same amount of training?

Hmmm.

This thing slips right in the same niche as some classic totin' iron; a slim, single-stack 8+1 9mm with useable sight radius and enough grip to get your whole hand on. Think P-225, P7M8 and 3913/3913LS. Think of it as a P-225 with Kahr's sweet same-pull-every-time trigger. Granted, it's a niche market, as it takes a certain amount of panache and self confidence to tote a single-stack 9mm in a national gun culture that equates "9mm" with "Zillion-round mag capacity". But, hey, Kahr's building it; we'll see if they will come. ;)

I own quite a few 9mm semiautos and I recently bought a Kahr K-9 because I saw it laying in my dealers gun case and when I handled it, I could not resist buying it. It really made no sense because I have two Glock 9mms (17/19) plus several other 9mms. The price was right, I had the money and I wanted the K9 so I bought it, which was enough reason for men. Just don't tell my wife about my new Kahr, because I would be hard pressed to come up with an acceptable answer for her. ;)

While my initial thoughts when I heard about this pistol were similar to those of Jeff OTMG (where's the market?), I now have to side with Tamara. I've certainly carried my 225 enough without feeling undergunned, and after handling a T-9 I can vouch for it falling into the elegant single-stack-nine category. It's slim and trim and has that typically smooth Kahr trigger. But what really impressed me was its balance in the hand. To date, the SIG 225 is the most ergonomically pleasing 9mm I've handled. The T-9 provides that same sort of feel for me, melding the tool with the hand. Finished in Black-T, I'd give it some serious thought for CCW.

Take care. Marko

By the way, for comparison purposes, the Kahr T-9 is almost 1/2-inch shorter in width, 1/2-inch shorter in length, 1/3-inch shorter in height, and has the same weight and mag capacity of the SIG 225.

Take care. Marko
