New HR 1022 Assault Weapons Ban - threads merged

Has about as much chance to go through as that bill to reintroduce the draft has when it is discussed soon.

Well unless Trent Lott and company support it. However theres just not enough support in even her own party.

Fun part is that they'll probably rig in some sort of confiscation routine this time. Don't count on this being a cosmetic ban.

Over at THR, we noticed that the congresscritter was a little disappointed that the victim count in SLC didn't live up to her expectations... Take a look at the threads attached to this one (you may have to click more than once...), and help us tell the world about the New York Vampire Congresswoman.

We've got a SIZABLE list of major media contacts in the thread, waiting for you to send 'em how you feel about this politician using the blood of innocent victims to gain prestige within her party.

Well, Gixerman, it looks like you posted the same thread in at least two fora. I advise against it. That is a spamming technique we frown on.

Merging.

Bleeding Heart women like this are the type that NEED to stay home in the kitchen and make brownies for their children to make themselves feel good not crying and whining on the floor of the United States House of Representatives.

I am saddened to hear of these events and have introduced legislation that if enacted will prevent further violence.

In Philadelphia, a gunman opened fire on his colleagues using an AK-47 assault rifle he legally purchased. These dangerous weapons, which are intended to hit multiple targets in a short period of time, were allowed back on our streets when the federal ban on assault weapons expired in 2004. The deaths in Philadelphia could have been prevented if Congress had done its job of protecting the homeland and renewed the assault weapons ban.

Sheesh, contrary to what Norman Lear might say, these are the true simple minded Edith Bunkers of America

Bud, no offense but this is a big issue. Maybe we can bend the rules a bit for Gixerman as I appreciate their work on this issue.

I tried to post it where I thought it would be seen by the most people. I posted it on several forums I belong too and didn't mean to post it twice on TFL. I’m a good member here and in all of the other forums I belong to, I try to be helpful when I can, stay out of topics when I can’t and I never bash or look for trouble in any thread.

Alerting as many people possible in hopes to actively involve them in the fight to keep our freedoms was my intent not spamming or breaking any rules.

When everyone is done playing shoot the messenger or complaining about how many times they have seen this topic posted by me or others,,,,PLEASE,,, take a little time to contact your representatives and tell them politely how you feel about this bill.

Are they going to try and use the same ban we had previously, or is it going to be different? Only ban 'assault rifles' but not high capacity magazines ect?

probably the whole cosmetics thing. Your Mini-14 can't have a wireframe stock with a pistol grip or it gets confiscated.

Or maybe somthing along the lines of bolt action or break action shotguns only or something. (I hope not)

After thinking bout it it doesn't really matter what kind of ban they pass you can still get what ever gun you want, Its just a matter of legality then.

Just picked up a Smith and Wesson M&P15 yesterday. An evil black rifle jumped WAAAY up on my list after the last election, and got launched into the top spot when I saw this critter (HR 1022) had been drawn up.

I'm not normally a the-sky-is-falling type, but I figured I really might not be able to get one six months or a year from now.

I also took care to pick up 15-round magazines when I bought my M9. I dislike having to think about what I may or may not be able to buy in the near future. :barf:

I plan on buying more magazines, but I already got most of what I need as far as firearms that might find themselves banned as "assault weapons".
