Depends what distances you're comfortable shooting at. I use a Savage 30-06. Great rifle and using a Winchester Silvertip 180 grain factory load. Still have 1728 ft/lbs at 400 yards... plenty for what I'm doing.

The weatherby 30-378 is a hell of a cartridge. Also the 338-378. Both will kill all game in North America and the later would kill 95% of the worlds game. Both are accurate but expensive to shoot. If you reload they are not terrible. A 338 EDGE would also work. It is the "poor mans lapua" as they say!
