New Glock 23 Gen3

Well, i need to post pic, but who cares, right? Black, block like, 6lb trigger, finger grooves hit my fingers weird.

It is supposed to grow into the role of backup ccw to my 1911 CCO.

It is sooooo wide! Slide was 1.05", i think.

Need a range session, i guess.

What is wrong? It is just kind of boring. I think shooting it will help.

Nice, love the Glock 23.

Only dumped mine to get out of .40 for good, but should I get back into .40, a 23 is the way I would go.

I'm looking to buy a 23 nowadays... fits right between my G27 and G35.
The 35 is the nightstand gun in Gunvault SV, the 27 is my truck gun because it can be clipped on when I have to work in the sketchy parts of town.

Not sure what I *need* the 23 for... Guess it'd be nice to have the whole 40 family.. otherwise its kinda like having a 1/4" and 1/2" socket set, but not a 3/8" set.

Not wanting to start fight but I'll take boring every day. I have only owned 357mags until 2 weeks ago. All I can say is I never shot better in all my 43 years.

We moved from Tn. to Fl. and I went for my Fl. permit 3 days ago and it chose to bring the Glock over all my other wheels to complete the shooting section of the course. Needless to say, I qualified. So, if that's boring, then so be it.

it is boring

only if you don't do anything to it. Try to dress it up, change the sight, add any modification to your liking. Then show us the picture of it, because like they always said..no picture, it didn't happened.:)

Curious, if you think it's so boring, why did you buy it? I love my glocks btw. Especially my rtf2 19

Well, I finally have time to review my first shots......

GRIP
It is tight to get my med-lrg sixe hands on without getting Glock-knuckle. It is usable though.

TRIGGER
Heavy, but usable. Needs to smooth out some. Would like 1-2 lb take up with a crisp 4-5 lb break. Now, I think I'm closer to 3 lb take up and 6lb break.

ACCURACY
Who knows....I shot 10 yd steel like 12" x 14".

RELIABILITY
Less than ideal. 2 FTFs in first 100 rounds.

If used: recoil spring may need to be replaced, and the magazines may be near/at at the end of their service life.

Given that it is the last round each time, I'm leaning towards a magazine based malfunction.

Brand new, out of the box gun. My money is on one mag being NG, so I marked it. I'll go out again today or with my SIL tomorrow and try again.

If it were a 1911, I would say mag. Since I'm bored this morning, I might disassemble that mag and have a look.

Still kind of bummed since it is a new Glock. Might be sluggish with the Glock goo (brown stuff) in it.

Would it be acceptable to anybody if American Eagle fmj didn't run 100% in their Glock? Just saying, not trying to argue.

And would it be acceptable for anyone to judge their gun's reliability after only 100 rounds of the same ammo?

By shooting various ammo, and if it does the same failure, than you can isolate it to mechanical problem. Otherwise, you are just guessing.

Say it is not so, what ever happened to Glock perfection?
I just have a Glock 26 for less than a month, like it very much. Now reading this..

I'm not giving up on it. I'm thinking it is a mag issue. The mag is isolated and will be tossed if it hiccups 2 more times.

Not sure where to go next. I'm thinking extended mag release. The Ghost one looks great, but I worry it might be loose with the oversized pad that snaps onto it. Thoughts or experiences? An extended might work, but the real issue is position. ZevTech looks solid, but I hate threaded fasteners on a gun.

Also, I'm thinking about getting some Ameriglo sights....something with a fiber optic front or maybe a tritium front sight. Still undecided.

Was thinking Vickers Slide Stop, but really I don't have any issue with the current one, so....pass.

Also, need to try grip tape. Front and back strap are worthless for grip.
