most of the time its done with a hand primed spring loaded launcher. they do have electric powered one at trap ranges/courses, and you can throw them by hand with a arm launcher, or just throw them sidearm style like a baseball.

but it is a 2 person activity....

you forgot the requisite first threads being "The PGO (pistol grip only) equipped shotgun is more accurate shot from the hip that a standard stock shot from the shoulder...":D

The mechanical slinger that has a foot operated trigger device is great for a solo shooter.

It will never be necessary to fire the Pistol Grip Only shotgun because the bad guy will pee his pants and run away at the sound of the pump being racked so we will never know...:D

Do you own any other guns besides shotguns Kimmy?

VA9mm, right now all I have is a 12ga Stevens single break-action shot gun. I see a couple more that I would like to get. My brother has a Mossberg 500 in 12ga and 20ga. I would like to get them.

I loves me a 500 in both 12 and 20 gauge. Their is more variety for 12 gauge ammo but in 20 i get all the variety I need.

The bad guy will pee his pants at the sound of a racked shot gun, that is funny. I would love to see that. Heh!

yea Brent, I forgot the age old debate,

if a shotgun handgun platform out shoots the traditional stock on shoulder mode. Reminds me of Cagney films, they all shot .38's from the hip, both guns blazing and a high capacity wonder nine had nothing on them as they NEVER ran out of bullets...come to thing of it I don't think to recollection Roy Rogers ever ran dry either, humm....may be something to this pistol shotgunning from the hip after all .

Welcome Kimmy, Be careful there is an assortment of dirty old men, young wanna be's and a bunch of pretty nice people in here. I hope you have fun with your gun, stick with the sport and maybe get to the place where you can get one that ain't gonna give you bruises. In the mean time, enjoy the fun.

Welcome to the forum, Kimmy.

Perhaps you could convince your girl friends to try a shotgun equipped with a recoil pad. There are also recoil pads that strap to the shoulder.

Another option for reduced recoil is handloading. It's really quite easy.

Another person you can contact is pax. She's a fellow Staff member here. She will probably forget more than I will ever learn regarding gunownership. Her site, www.corneredcat.com is worth taking a peek.

GoldieGlox is also a new member. She's probably busy getting her site up and running, but she might have time to chat here, too. Her site is www.femme45.com.

Welcome aboard, Kimmy.

New Gal Here

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi folks, I'm new here. I am just getting into shot guns. I have a 12 ga single break-action shot gun. I just love this gun. I plan on getting more shotguns soon. Just wanted to say HI. Hope there are more gals like me out there.

Welcome Kimmy,

Thats the exact same shotgun I started with..

Just know a pump or semi auto shotgun will not kick as
much as the single shot.
