Hi all, and thanks for letting me in.
I'm new to your forum, new to handguns, and shooting. I shot BB guns as a kid, and stopped as a teen. Many moons later, I was invited to go fishing with coworkers to Central PA... a cabin in the woods. Surprise to me, the day started the day with shooting, pistols, rifles, etc. I enjoyed it, like I did when I was a kid. So I finally got the blessing of my wife, researched for a year, and finally bought my pistol... EAA Tanfoglio Witness PS 9mm. Then I scheduled a private training session at the local range. Did pretty well according to the instructor. I still plan on taking the Sheriff's Firearms Safety Course.

I'm really enjoying shooting again.

Welcome! I am in S.E. PA also. Interesting choice for a first pistol. Looks like a Tanfo Witness CZ clone with a polymer frame. I am sure it shoots well.

That it is. EAA Tanfoglio Witness PS 9mm. My first choice was a Witness Elite Match. Since this was my first pistol, I felt starting with a less expensive model in the same vein, would be a good choice (just in case I didn't like it). It was a great choice for me. What sold me on this pistol was the fit of the grip to my hand, the great weight, and the smooth clean break of the trigger, for which it is known.

The dealer was selling it as a Witness P, not realizing it is a special run Grey Ghost, hence the grey polymer instead of black. I'm also keeping my eyes open for a .22 conversion kit.

Thanks for the welcome.

Welcome, and great choice!

I bought several dozen pistols before I finally bought my 9mm Tanfoglio CZ clone. I have bought quite a few since. It's still my favorite.

Recently I realized, "Wait, they make them in 45acp, too!" So, of course, I HAD to have one! :)

The 9mm is steel, but 45 looks a little like yours:

welcome to the forum, and the sport. sounds like you're doing everything right, taking classes, doing research, consulting the wife on large purchases....

... shifting gears, I've been toying with the idea of a EAA witness for some time now, but for some reason can never find a decent deal on one. that and several other recent purchases have left the gun fund empty.

Welcome, nice pistol. My Witness Tanfoglio is an Elite Limited in 9mm. I mounted a C-More red dot and a Henning trigger. Very accurate, easy to handle.

Welcome. I'm in Western PA. That's a nice looking witness. I've been reading up on the Tanfoglio and Sarsilmaz pistols as I too am looking to take the plunge into handguns. I think I've read all I can. At this point I need to get them in my hand to decide if they feel right.

GarandTD, I bought mine at a local show, but the dealer was G & C Enterprises out of Washington, Pa. That's out your way. They carry both Tanfoglio and SAR. If you go in, tell Carol Joe says Hi.

Welcome along. Good pistol there, I have a couple of EAA's witness pistols 1in 9 m/m the other is .45 acp and love them.

Thanks all for the warm welcome.

My wife is NOT a gun fan. But she agreed under certain conditions: private training, safety course (3 weeks to go), range practice, and only one gun. The private training covered basic safety, and the basics of shooting. That was enough for her to see I was serious.

Believe me, I understand the responsibility involved and the consequences if I don't take it seriously. It's not just my life in jeopardy if I'm careless.

I'm still learning.

I wish you luck sticking to that one gun rule. I said that about 70 guns ago.
They're like kids.........you get more love to give with each gu.....kid.

Congrats on your new pistol. Tanfaglio makes some really neat pistols. I've got a Witness Elite Match and a Witness Compact. The triggers on both of them are way better than the triggers on any of my other handguns. The trigger on the Match is almost 1911 good.

Where are you in SE Pa.?
