New Firearm,I want your opinions

Been in this boat myself, my last purchases were a Mosin Nagant 91/30 and a Ruger Mini-14. Next purchase is going to be a CMP Garand followed by a lever gun of some sort. I'd recommend any of the above, but the Mini is probably the most fun to shoot for me.

100-rounds per Mag of plinky fun in .22lr or 9mm...:D

You have all the major rifle calibers covered for North American hunting/shooting other than big bore leverguns i.e. 45-70 and really long range shooting, i.e. 50 BMG and 338 Lapua.

You don't have any former Commie rifles SKS/AK (if noisemaking on the cheap is appealing to you).

Perhaps try some handguns

.38/.357 S&W Revolver (everyone should own a K frame)
45ACP 1911
9mm or 40 S&W Polymer handgun i.e. M&P, Glock, XD, SR9/SR40
9mm or 40S&W alluminum handgun i.e. Sig 226, CZ 75, Beretta 92

No gun collection is complete without a favorite handgun(s)! Indoor ranges are always open when its too hot, too cold, rainy, snowy to go shooting outside.

My daughter just got her a new rifle, she bought a Savage 116 Weather-Warrior, in .270 win. I'm goin to write a new thread on it as soon as I get more info. But this rifle is superb, it handles nice, lightweight, Accustock,Accutrigger,,,, Stainless steel,,,, what else could you want? As far as your list,, its the pick of that litter, no-fooling dude!!!;)

Marlin is making a very nice .45-70 these days. At least I really like it. It's the 1895SBL Guide Gun. Ghost ring sights, oversize lever, a rail for mounting optics, stainless, and a very nice looking rifle. They sell a blued version without the rail which I think looks even better but this one has the features more people want. The short barrel makes it excellent for carrying on a horse or an ATV. And being a .45-70 it will hold it's own with anything in N. America.

Of course there are the 30-30 Marlins which are nice but I like the over-size rings for operating it with gloves or big hands or both. Marlin seems to be having some problems lately but this is still a nice gun IMO.

Since you mentioned the .338 I'll suggest the Savage 110BA.
I just bought its baby brother, the Savage 10BA which is a .308.
It shoots great and feels like you're carrying a Brinks truck.
