New Barrel on my Rem. 700

Be sure to remove the jag before pulling
the rod back through the barrel and do not
use nylon brushes as some solvents
will eat the synthetic brushes and
a plastic residue in your barrel.

If some folks don't break in their match grade barrels from a given maker, yet others think they have to, what's the difference? The barrels or the people who shoot them?

I'm more amazed at the 1:11.27 twist that barrel has. I can imagine how a barrel maker would need a few thousand setups and rifling heads to make such tiny differences in rifling twists

Bart B, I felt the same way. When I was looking at Rock Creek Barrels, some were 11.25 & 11.27. I went with the M24 5R 11.27 twist cut to 21". I only shoot 168 gr sierra HPBT 200 yards. My only concern in break in is the cut chamber, cool down I feel is more important
