New AK 47 WASR 10/63

Just saw on "Centerfiresystems.com" they have an AK 47 accessory package for $29.99. You get the bayonet and frog, cleaning kit, mag pouch, oil bottle, and sling. They also sell cleaning rods for Romanian AKs for $9.99.

Hope it helps

Here's a couple of pics. Hopefully they won't be too blury. I haven't figured out exactly how to post pics in this forum instead of an attachment. The first is a shot looking down from on top of the rifle. I think this is what you guys are referriing to when you say "sight cant". It appears that the post is twisted just a bit out of perpendicular. The second pic is of the serial number. Does the "1968" refer to the original year of manufacture?

Range report

Well, I learned a lot at the range this morning. I learned that the bolt and carrier of an AK have to be well lubed or it won't feed or eject. I also learned that there is no "half open" setting on an AK. It should either be held open by hand or it should close completely. This should happen with break in I am told. Also learned that all the adjusting for elevation is done with the front site post during zero. I didn't know that. So I wasted a bunch of ammo. I started out on the 25 yard target (see attached) and was about 6 inches low and 6 inches to the left. Not having any way to adjust the front site post I moved over to the 100 yard range just to see what it would do. Not even on the paper. I have since learned how to change elevation but how do I change windage on this rifle? The three shots in the white box were placed there by me holding on the top, right corner of the paper. I was at least getting consistent groups. Any advice wold be greatly appreciated.

The local pawn shop has one of these currently. Looks like the one pictured. $349 OTD minus bayonet and extra mag.

Also get the B Square front sight adjustment tool.....

Unecessary. Put the front sight in a vice with a socket over the other end big enough to allow the front sight base to extend into as you push it in the desired direction. I usually make do with just a c-clamp and socket :p
