Picked this up yesterday. Got everything you see for $556 out the door. This is my first AK and I dont' know a whole lot about them. It is a Century Internationa Arms product. It does have a chrome lined barrel. Romanian in origin. Haven't shot it yet. Anybody got any experience with this particular rifle?

A bit pricey, I think, but I got my WASR before His 0-ness came to power, and the consequent panic buying. I'm not up on current prices.

For a fun/civil unrest gun, it should do fine. Stock up on mags and ammo.

She won't win any beauty contests but if you want a rifle you can drag into a bad situation that is it...well that and they are fun to shoot! ;)

Everything there was in the $495 range. This was the nicest one and came with the most accessories. As for pretty guns I have an M4 for that. But never had an AK so now I do. Can't wait to shoot it....

I have one and it is great dont listen to other people hate on it.

Same here. Mine's been awesome. The 10/63 is the way to go for century AKs, I maybe would take that with an underfolder but I don't think the Romanian one's built with underfolder trunion's had the chromed barrels but maybe I am wrong.

Your's sounds a bit pricey but not surprisingly pricey. Adjust for inflation and the usual BS. I am surprised the hi-cap mags didn't go sky high from the threat of banning them within a couple weeks. Maybe not everyone got heardthat though.

A CIA WASR 10/63 was our first rifle...
Absolutely reliable, and despite all the hate about accuracy, a solid 3 moa rifle with cheap ammo.

I own the WASR 10/63, I had the store do a little personalising and ended up way over spending(about 700 after tax FFL and labor to have a side folding polymer stock, poly handgrip and 4 rail poly handguard) and mine doesn't have the chrome barrel. it's a good rifle all the same but it's a little picky about the steel mags

I don't own a WASR, but my Romanian AES-10B has been outstanding. It doesn't like one Tapco magazine, but that's the mag being faulty. I wouldn't hesistate to buy a WASR (and I plan to later). They're a blast to shoot!

i like mine. i managed to find a nice scope mount for mine on ebay and put a decent red dot on it. the wasr 10's kind of have a bad reputation with the mag wells but that was fixed with the 10/63's Alot of people have alot of negative things to say about these AK clones, but dont even listin to them, (theyre all on the saiga conversion band wagon hahahaha)

I like it so far. For some reason mine did not come with the cleaning rod, sling, cleaning kit, or the leather thing that lets one wear the scabbard on one's belt. I did get the rubber grommet though. Go figure. Anyway I am on the lookout now for those items. I would like to keep this rifle original if possible so if anybody knows where I might find Romanian accessories let me know. I'm also going to go to the brick and mortar location of the outfit that sold this to me as well, now that I know what I'm missing....

A little pricey.

I bought mine last summer for around $460. numbers matching, and came with two tapco mags, mag pouch, sling, oil bottle, and same bayonet. Felt I over paid at the time because I kept hearing people say they got theirs for around $300.

Sucks about the cleaning rod and kit though. I see that a lot. Also some places remove the scope mount on the left side of the receiver.

Is your numbers matching? Any mag wobble? Canted sights? Scope mount?

I was lucky mine came with everything it should. Has slight wobble when empty but hardly any when loaded. Tapco mags are thicker so they can help with mag wobble.

Still a great gun, have fun with it.

A little pricey.

There were three vendors there that had comparable AK's. All within $10 of each other. This was the going rate, at least that weekend in that location.

My numbers match. The mags have no markings on them and are steel. They appear to be as old as the gun. Original?

As I said the numbers match. No mag wobble. Everything seems buttoned up and tight. The sights appear to be straight on. And it does have ths side scope mount.

Oh I am happy with the purchase. I figure I can pick up the missing items as I go along. Going to take it down this weekend for a thorough cleaning and then it is to the range...

I agree with just about everyone else on here. Don't let the WASR basher's bother you. I also bought 2 of them, and they shoot and function as well as my friends higher end Arsenal, and Polytec. Fit and finish might not be up to par with those "upper end" AK clones, but they shoot just as good. One poster stated that the 10/63's were better,( I didn't know there was any difference) and that's even better to know because that's what I have.
