New addition...

Re: Pietta barrel stampings

They stamp it in there deep too...no mercy for the poor barrel. :(
It wouldn't kill them to put it under the loading lever if they're gonna put it somewhere.

Hey Doc, does it feel as good in the hand as they claim? Sure is purdy:D thinking about getting one in light of the now near impossible to find USFA Rodeo.

But then there's that 7 & 1/2" model with the bulls-eye ejector in 44-40 I've been pining after for a year or two:rolleyes:

44-40 ROCKS!!:D

Hey guys....!...!

Knock it off with the 44-40 crap.

I don't want to get into loading yet another caliber.

Passed up a chance at an 1866 Winchester clone in 44-40 for 600.00.

As my wife says, "Don't make me take my ear-rings off!"

Berdan...

Feels pretty nice.

It is .357 so the recoil should not be so bad.

I have a Vaquero in .45LC and like a dummy I loaded the cases with about 40 gr. Shot about 200 rounds from that and an Uberti Catttleman and when I was done, my hand was beat to heck.

I swapped out the checkered ebonite grips on that revolver for some similated pearl that I got in a Geroco. Couple the smoother grips with a lighter load and it shoots a little more civilized.

This .357 should be very manageable.

I remember almost a coupla years ago now, Mykeal said he likes .36 cap and ball revolvers better than .44. (Hope I have that right.) .36 might be a little less emotional but it is better behaved.
