Shot at her on the other side of a valley at least at 110 yard shot.

Your concept of "valley" and mine are of a vastly different scale. I have shot across "draws" signifigantly wider than that. 110 yards is Black Powder ML range......

The gun is chambered for one of the most powerfull rounds ever concieved it never fails to drop a deer.

Ummm .....er ...... Okey Dokey Allrighty Then..... but if 150 grains pushed to 2700 f/sec is "one of the most powerfull rounds ever concieved"..... that's ...... pretty much 30-06 territory.... there's dozens of rounds "concieved" that are pushing more bullet, faster .... and many of them are in production and sitting on teh Walmartz shelves right now..... you may have seen them..... many of them have "Magnum", "Short Magnum", "Ultramag" tagged onto the end of their name..... Even the "mild recoiling" .270 WIN is packing more foot/ lbs @ 100 yards than the Mosin's bullet.....

load

-mixed brass, but most of it is PPV

-Sierra, .311/150 gr PSP Pro Hunter

-46.5 grs Varget

I have no idea what the velocity on this load is, but it is mild and I suspect the fps are not over 2700. I figure about .300 Savage punch.

My PSL likes it.

;) LOL

What is wrong with Lapua and Norma? For the number of re-loads you get it is a bargain. I would have to page through my log book to be exact but the last time I noted the re-loads it was over 14 on a box of 100 I bought in '01 for $56 and I still have 89 of the original 100 cases and I FL size every 3rd. loading. That is a lot of shooting with 174g SMK's and 150g Game Kings using 4064 and 4895. I pull down steel cases and reload with 150g MK's and 4895 for the SVT40 as well because that is where I lost most of the Lapua cases using the SVT.

Good luck

;)

I used the starting load recommended in two loading books for the 174g SMK. Us the book not what others say they use because some people are crazy. Always start low and work up never start at max loads. I'm not near my log book.

;)

I talked to sierra a few years ago and they sell the .310"'s in 174g SMk and 150g Game King and told me the data was on the way. LOL

The numbers are so close I use the same amount of powder in the .303 and the 7.62X53R.
