Need input on handgun gift....

Letting my wife pick out her own meant alot to her. She chose the SP101 3". She never went shooting with me in the twenty some years we are married. I take her to the range with her new gun and surprised me with some decent shooting, not bragging but very good for self defense purposes. I no longer try to get her mad at me, HA. Have a good time at the toy store.
My GF does not like revolvers. Of the centerfire I have, she like my 1911 9mm the most. So, I recommend a 1911 9mm (thin grips, short trigger if her hands are small. Adjustable sights would be nice, too).
If 380--- I do not have first hand experience but Beretta 84 (whichever one is the single stack), Sig P230/232 looks good.
Kahr K9 also looks good.
