I like Cordovan myself.
I find tan from any maker tends to eventually look dirty and worn.
As far as colorfastness of the dye their is no difference in any of the colors. Each will scuff the same. I have some holsters that are about 5 years old and while they look like they have been used they are holding up well.
If you have a tan belt stick with a tan holster if it's a color you like.
Most of my personal gear is not color coordinated, I usually wear the rejects and left overs (except for a few exotics)
