Need Help On CALI Arms Law!

I don't mean to intrude on your post but my question is kinda similar.

Let's say I wanted to buy an AR-15 or an AK and store it at my sister's house out of state, is this legal ? Will an out of state gun dealer still sell me a firearm with a CA driver's license ?

The reason I am asking is because a CA friend was refused the purchase of a Mini 30 while in Arizona because of his CA license. He swears he's telling the truth but it sounds fishy.

I don't know A-Team.

I have often wondered that one myself. I bet if you moved farther east and bought a gun at the right spot, they wouldn't care where you were from as long as you knew the laws and restrictions. I would imagine that Arizona gun shops might find themselves in lawsuits should some poor PRK sap get nailed for importing a AW, so they naturally will just tell PRK customers tough luck. That is my guess.

Bedeviler. If you have not joined the California Rifle and Pistol Association, please do so immediately. I am a NRA life member too at the tender age of 24, but that means little to me compared to being a CRPA member. I regularly contribute to them and even attend their annual banquet. Anytime new gun control comes up on the federal level, IT DOES NOT EFFECT ME! Why? We already have it worse in the PRK. Not only are you helping out California, but we are the test case for the rest of the country. The hairbrained schemes they concoct here go federal next. So please, it is important, join the CRPA. Your money will not go to waste. In fact, if you want to buy that AR or AK someday, this is your best chance to do it.

The final benefit of joining the CRPA is that if you want to qualify to get a M1 Garand from the Civilian Marksmanship Program, you must be a member of a state association. You want a good battle rifle? Many will tell you that the M1 is just about as good as they come.

Well I currently live in PRK and I have 2 AR15 type rifles.

I don't like the AK type rifles myself :(

AR's are legal if you purchased and registered them before the cutoff date (Jan 1, 2001).

As for buying something new .... you're pretty much S.O.L.

But we have great weather here :) :barf:

Boy does the PRK(C) blow chunks. I hate this (insert expletive here) state. I ran out and bought my AR before the date and registered it. One of these days I will remove myself from this god forsaken (expletive) hole of a state for the dregs and p.c. demonRats of theworld. (can you believe they think its a republic)

Until then I hate to point attention to it however you can legally (if not a violation of the spirit of State and Federal law :p ) buy an AR or AK from an out of state private individual (like in Nevada) the crime would occur when you brought it back into the state.
