Need another 45

Had a Glock 21, 30, Sig P220 SSS, USP .45, HK45 and now just have the HK45C. The HKs are the only .45s that have been 100% reliable for me. (feed, fire, extract, eject) SWCs and some other styles choke the other brands occasionally. The stainless Sig P220 was a real nice gun, it just didn't function well with my favorite SWCs. The Sigs and the Glocks are excellent with FMJ. The Glock 21 and the USP .45 stand out as having the lowest felt recoil of the bunch. The HKs were the most accurate in my hands, especially the USP .45. I shot some of my best ever 50 yard groups with that gun and my JSWC handloads.

Two guns to look at:

1.) FN FNX - you could get the tactical model and mount a red dot on top. It holds 15 in the clip. The tactical model could also be suppressed. I realize that it may not be the DAO you want, but fits my hand like a glove. I do not have one, but it is on my very very short list.

2.) The new Springfield Armory xds mod.2. Slightly bigger double stack than the XDS, but also holds more rounds. 9 in the standard mag and 13 in the extended mag. All this in a very concealable gun not much bigger than the original XDS. Haven't shot one of these, but my brother just got one and he said it shoots lights out. I do have the original XDS and it's my daily carry. I love that thing!

Hold and shoot every available .45 you can, the one that puts that "holy crap" expression on your face will be the one you buy! Ahh, the wonders of gun shopping. It doesn't get any better than that - enjoy and good luck.

I usually went with a 3.5lb trigger on my competition 1911. My personal opinion is that carrying a 3.5-5lb trigger 1911 is fine, as long as your training level supports it.

If the gun goes bang when you pull the trigger, everything else is pretty much a user training issue.

As Alancac98 mentioned, the XDS Mod 2 is intriguing. It's unfortunate the XDS is $70-$80 cheaper and Springfield is giving away 3 extra mags. Makes it difficult to buy the mod 2 right now. :(

I have it narrowed down

Now that I have sold one of my other guns like I agreed with my wife to do before I bought another one, I think I have it narrowed down. I think I am going to get an M&P 45 or a Sig 320 45 as soon as I can find one. I like the looks of that FDE model M&P 45, although most posters here are going to tell me the 320 would be a better gun.

Those are probably 2 of the best (striker fired)options on the market in general IMHO but I don't believe I've seen a 320 in 45 yet and I go to a lot of gun shops.
