I guess I'll just have to wait and see--from a rudimentary point of view--I would think a trimmer "doesn't care" what's behind the neck
I assume you checked their headspace first?
Sorry that went clean over your head--I was teasing you based on your engagements on the savage and dummies threads.Quote:

My cases do not have head space, my chamber has a length that is measured from the datum to the bolt face.
It boggles the mind of the reloader, my cases do not have head space, my cases have a length. The length of the case is measured from the datum/shoulder to the case head.
I said I made a tool that measured the length of the case, that would be from the end of the neck to the case head.
And now I will the add the part about the case length from the shoulder to the case head, my cases do not have head space. I made a tool that measures the length of the case from the datum/shoulder to the case head, I can (almost) measure the length of the case from the shoulder to the case head as fast as I can determine the length of the case from the end of the neck to the case head. I made the tool 'way back in the late '70s for a different purpose and then made a small change for measuring the length of the case from the shoulder to the case head.
I gave one to a friend to use for its original intent, he thought is was the greatest tool until he made an attempt to sell them. Machine shops told him they did not have time to do the job correctly the first time but had time to fix the mistakes the second time around. And I made another one for my older brother that rebuilt pumps and heavy engines off shore.
