Thought I'd post a few pics of my recently cerakoted Ruger SP101. I had it done in sniper gray and graphite black. I'm really happy with the way it came out.

Oh no another scary black gun has been born

Not my taste but glad you like it. Should hold up and be very durable.
No go shoot it like crazy :D

Looks Sweet! I've been thinking of doing something similar with my SP101 or GP100. Although my favorite gun shop says Cerakote will not hold up on a revolver and will burn the end of cylinder and cone area, I've actually seen a few revolvers that had these burns on them. Please update the thread after shooting a few hundred rounds and post pics.

Looks good!
I've done a couple rifles and a pistol with dura-coat and they have held up very well.
I think you will be pleased.
You may get some discolor to the end of the cylinder but if it was stainless you would have some discolor anyway.

There is a place called Intacto Firearms about 2 miles from my house here in Boise, Id. They are the one's who Cerakoted it for me.

Never thought about Cerakote for stainless

It does make sense on a stainless carry gun now that I think about it.
Sweet looking rig.

I like!!

Shame no one does it locally (as far as I know): it would look cool for my 4" RH, too!!

Does cerokoting have another name, as far as the process goes?

It does make sense for a SS gun. If it flashes off near the muzzle or forcing cone you don't have to worry about the unprotected surface. I'd like to do something like this for my hunting revolver.
