Where I am from you could only 'legally' use that scope if you turned on the IR seconds before you shot, 'point of kill' only for lights at night. So basically you couldn't use the IR feature to 'glass' for yotes in the darkness as IR is technically broadcasting downrange. A thermal scope would be fine as technically your not broadcasting downrange with one.
