My newest gun

To the OP. You're not alone. My desire for an STI Apiero just got delayed indefinitely due to the exotic granite my wife picked for the new home we're building. That's okay though. The kitchen will look stunning and my wife is happy. It's not like I don't have a safe full of pistols already. :)

My wife and I have separate accounts and we have divided up the bills. We have done this since we have been married...since 1975. When we were bringing up the kids and paying off our mortgage, extra cash was hard to come by. The last decade or so have been different and I try to tuck aside at least $50 a week for as long as I can for future toys. Put I away and forget about it and live within my means otherwise. Some weeks I can save more but it's always at least $50.
That's how I have obtained my guitars, guns and other fun stuff. I don't have to ask permission so long as I keep her happy with dinners, movies and other fun stuff. Every once in awhile she will put something in the safe and will notice the growing gun collection and will ask me how many guns I have bought lately. I tell her I have no secrets, all she has to do is count them and keep track. I'm not sure if she has done it or not. Hey it works for us!

"Jeeze, I just spent as much on that pile of tile as they wanted for a Glock 30!"

Ha! I'd be laying that tile with a smirk on my face.:D

(The tile wouldn't have to be laid STRAIGHT or anything would it?)

After you take care of your obligations a little 'his money' and a little 'her money' to do with as you please can be the lubrication that keeps your relationship running smoothly.

Freedom.

LOL!
My wife won't let me near the thinset! :D

Neither will the tile guy ;).

I'm the designated tile cutter/trimmer.
I'm the one that gets to have dirty water tossed all over the front of him while the tile guy is yelling at me to hurry up, but for the love of God, don't chip any of those tile when you cut them!

A long time ago I helped tile a small (6x12) floor in a closed room. Used Lockbond. By the time we got done, the tile was still straight, but we weren't...

kinda fun, but he headache after was...not...

Haha, every guy needs a gun fund account. Mine comes from auctions and reselling stuff on Craigslist. About once a month I go to auctions and buy stuff like tools, appliances etc that are a decent price and resell them on craigslist for a profit, or I trade those items for items that are worth more money, or I have straight up traded them for guns (My best deal to date has been a $30 dollar delta 6" jointer for a remington 870 wingmaster and a an old washing machine and $50 bucks for a remington 788 in 6mm). It can be alot of running around but I typically can make about 4-5k a year doing this and that is my fun money.
