Nope - not at all... .Is it wrong to have a secret fund set up that the wife doesn't know about specifically for gun purposes?
I'd say it depends. If it's a fund like Hal's example, where the money came from sources other than the "official" family income stream, that's fine. But if it involves any form of dishonesty about how much you make, or how much you sold something for... not so much. Dishonesty is bad for relationships....Hal said:MRYANJ99 said:Is it wrong to have a secret fund set up that the wife doesn't know about specifically for gun purposes?
All out of the blue, my wife jumps in and asks what the payment would be if we put down an extra $5,000.00!!!!
I looked over @ her like she had a giant eyestalk growing out of her head and asked her what corner she planned on working the next month or so!
She just said, "It's the dog's money".
Here she'd been sticking away spare money from rebates and stuff like that for some time and sticking it in a separate bank account she used to buy the dogs treats and stuff.

+1...I have found that one of the best sources of gun money is travel reimbursements and per diem payments that my employer gave directly to me. Makes a great slush/gun fund...
Yeah - I have to confess this tile project started out as my idea.My problem is I am the one who comes up with the honey-do list that turns into a me-do list. There always seems to be something coming up, or a new project for me.
