My new Remington 700

The 308 would make short work of that ferret indeed, but my friend who owns the beast is also my senior Corporal, it might not be worth her wrath.

Just had to drag it out and pic. Standard Houge stock. You could not slide 2 bills between the stock and barrel, but 1 bill makes it free floating.Yes I would like a more rigid stock but it works for me at the present.

Fried ferret might be good, but If ferret tastes like they smell, I'll politely pass.....Nice rifle btw. Ditch the front legs for a front bag or rest. If your rifle handling is good, you will see a diference.

i recently shot my sps tactical with an IOR 2.5-10.5 at 1000yds and was hitting a 2'x2' steel plate no problem, 168 sierra HPBT, 44 grs varget.

Congrats on a great rifle. Mine (also a 20" SPS) usually prefers Federal GMM 168's, and will go .5 MOA to 1 MOA depending on me. I done well with some handloads too, but I have a LOT of GM on hand, so that is usually what I stick with.
