In reading up on the carbine (now that I am aware they are again reality) I see that Ruger/Marlin is using cut rifling, twisted 1:20. That is good news and should really add to the versatility of a .44 Mag carbine, allowing use of heavy bullets and high velocity lead, providing they feed of course.
