My new Detonics

This thing is so cool - packin it all day and I forget its there!
The Springfield compacts have an extended safety that can bite you... dig into your kidney.
The Detonics has a small safety that is well rounded and doesnt dig into nuthin.
IWB is painless.

Thinking about switching those safeties off the V-10s.

George,

I have a Detonics as well. I retired it a few years ago, but it is a great shooter! By the way, a Detonics has no grip safety and no firing pin safety, so a muzzle down fall WILL set it off (One of my old friends had one).

And some parts are hard to come by, so don't shoot it to death with a lot of +p stuff.

I now own a Kimber Ultra Carry, it's got the same 3" bbl, so I have gone thru the ammo thing.

Gold Dot 200 +p is great out of the small bbl. So is the Gold Dot 185 and 185+p.
Hyrda Shock 185+p works well but gives off a large muzzle blast. HS 165 really lights the place up!

A good rule of thumb with .45 ballistics is that the ammo looses 50 fps per inch of barrel, so if a round does 1050 fps out of a 5" test barrel, it should do 950 out of a 3 incher.

I have gravitated to the 200+p.

You have a great gun there. Enjoy.
