So chamber throats between 0.4315 and 0.432", and the bore is .429" exactly.
This means that, unless I get the pressure just right to avoid excessive speed but all the while ensure full expansion across the bore.
Is that even possible if the bullets exactly match the bore?
One thing to consider is that the other brand of bullets that I have bought (which have not arrived yet) have a minie bullet style concave base which should help achieve a better seal.
The H&Ns do not and any bullet-to-bullet variation that drops them below their stated .429" diameter and already the chances of a good seal will presumably drop...
So. The question now is:
Should I even bother?
Would it make more sense to just shelve these as smelt-fodder, and get myself a casting pot and .430 SWC mould?
