My groups is drifting down and left

Yes, the trigger was a surprise and still is. I think it has so much leverage that you'd hardly feel it. After I learned where it breaks sometimes it keeps going past break and finally break that was a surprise. I'd prefer a stiffer and shorter trigger so I have control of it.

Classic grip and trigger issue. You are most probably snapping the trigger rather than continually squeezing it. Don't fire the pistol....let the pistol fire when it is ready. This can eliminate flinch. Also, do not cross your thumbs, rather keep them parallel and lightly floating on under the slide rail. Using your thumbs to grip will cause the firearm to migrate down and left (for a right handed grip).
