My Glock 19 did not like Blazer Brass. Why?

I have a Gen2 and was having problems recently as well. There are significant differences between mine and yours but the problem with mine ended up being the ejector. I don't believe this would be the case with yours since it's quite new but it couldn't hurt to have it looked at by someone who's intimately familiar with them. I thought it may have been ammo, the magazine I had just purchased, or something I was just doing wrong. Turned out the ejector had significant carbon deposits that was causing stovepipes regularly, regardless of ammo choice.

I'd have it checked out by someone you can trust that knows their glocks inside and out. They might see the problem right away and correct it.

I did clean it last night and it wasn't all that dirty, hardly anything on the ejector I'd say. It'll be a couple of weeks before I can get back to the range but I'll try to report back then.

From experience, I can tell you my beretta hated anything at first, cheap or expensive. User error, didn't clean it thoroughly. Don't underestimate the power of a good cleaning.

Another range report - no Blazer, no problem

Went back to the range today toting the following ammo:
Remington UMC 115gr
Fiochhi 124 gr
Speer Lawman 115gr
Hornady Critical Defense 115gr

Maybe 100 rds total, zero issues whatsoever. This was my first time with the Fiochhi and Speer and I like them both. Way more accurate than the Remington and maybe even the Hornady (only shot 5 of those today though). Last target didn't turn out too badly. I'll see if I can post that next.

Bottom group is the G19 - 5 yards, 25 rounds combined Fiocchi/Lawman.

SlimJim,

My experience has been Blazer Brass is usually pretty good ammo, but I haven't found any for a while.

I also found UMC to be not so good.

You had good results with UMC, Fiochhi , and Speer. I think that's enough to eliminate the gun and magazines.

While Blazer Brass is normally good, it does seem that you may have got a bad batch. The sparks seem to point to poor burning, which would give weak results.

If it were me, I would give Blazer a second chance, in small amounts.

Whatever you decide, DO NOT try Blazer Steel. I stay away from that.

Cpuld we'll be a bad box. I run blazer through my 19 all the time.

It's probably seen over 1000 rounds of blazer and it has never had a hiccup with that or any other ammo.

It is a gen3 btw.

Weak batch of ammo, which exacerbates limpwristing. Silly and waste of time to send pistol back to Glock. All symptoms indicate weak ammo and bad grip/stance.

Oddly I had a couple FTE's with Blazer brass today on some reliable pistols.
I wouldn't worry about it. Just switch brands.
